0-1 | BALÓN DE CÁDIZ BEAT VEJER TO JUMP UP THE TABLE

Juanma Cruz’s side had a superb second half and scored near the end through Miguel de Alba

Balón de Cádiz took the fast lane into the top of the table in subgroup 1 of Primera Andaluza with a deserved win over CD Vejer at ‘El Mocito’ in the matchday 4 game which had been postponed.

Los amarillos came out looking to attack and had their opponents pinned back from the start, but were unable to convert their domination into clear chances on goal. The home side, after half an hour, managed to shake off the pressure and began to make incursions into the Cádiz box, stretching a game that was now far more even.

In the second half Juanma Cruz’s charges came out with the pedal to the metal and went hard at Vejer’s goal. That led to a number of chances for the attacking pair made up of José Mari and Miguelito de Alba, who were proving a handful for the hosts. And it was Miguelito de Alba who scored the winning goal with 15 minutes to go, though the 0-1 scoreline did not truly reflect the chances Cádiz had in the second half.
