Cervera: "The penalty goal was very hard for us"

Cádiz CF boss analysed the defeat in the press room

The cadista coach Álvaro Cervera faced the media in the press room after the match against Alavés. "This is football, whoever scores the most goals wins. We didn't play a bad game, just as we didn't play a bad game against Espanyol. We had a lot of shots on goal, we took fourteen corners, we had good stats. We lost the game because of things that didn't happen before and are happening now. The match in general is not bad, the result is very bad", he explained.

Work ahead. "The team lacks something more, I've been clear about that for a long time. The team doesn't attack like today, but we attacked a lot, we shoot, there are not dangerous crosses, the shots are not clean. We lack something more".

The penalty goal marks the match. "It's clear that, for a team like us, with the difficulties we're facing right now and in the situation we're in, a goal like today's marks the outcome of the match. It's not a stone that falls on you, it's practically a slab on top of you. Any small blow is a big slap in the face for us".

The situation. "I'm worried about absolutely everything about the team. The psychological, the sporting. I don't like being in this situation because we don't handle ourselves well in this situation. I'm angry because we lost and because of the two one-offs. I'm worried about other things than the team, I think the team is fine, they're not defeated, they haven't given up".
