Cervera: "It will be a tough game against Atleti"

The coach spoke to the media about the match against Atlético de Madrid.

Álvaro Cervera spoke to the media before the match against Atleti. "It's been a tough week, we come from a very bad result against a very direct rival. The mistakes are the ones we've been making so far in the league. Mistakes at set pieces, concentration, early goals. There are mistakes that can be corrected and others that can be fixed with work and attention. The bad thing is that it drags on and we see the same face as the second half the other day."

Jonsson's absence in Getafe. "Jens is fine, he has trained perfectly. He came with a back problem from the National Team and was not quite right for the match. We decided not use him against Getafe".

Sunday's opponent. "Atlético de Madrid are a team that I like a lot as a coach, maybe as a fan you like to watch another type of game, like leisure. But when you talk about work, about the football you need to watch to learn and improve, Atleti is very interesting to watch. A very well worked team, they know what they play, every year they add a little more quality with better players. They want to fight for the league, they win games in their own way. The games that are difficult for them, they win well because they are focused and they are good players. Last year we played a great game against them and they scored us four goals. They are a very big team in Spain and Europe."

A complicated match. "I'm not looking for anything other than the result, but the result through our identity. I'm not going to ask for anything else on Sunday other than commitment, effort and doing what we can on the pitch. We have to be aware of what we have to do, and if we can't do it, we don't want our opponents to do it. It will be a tough match of effort and disputes. We will try to win it with our weapons".

A word for 'Cholo' Simeone. "There are very good coaches, from whom you can learn things that you don't know. He has been at Atleti for a long time, we have seen him do different things, and for me as a coach he is a reference. Simeone seems to me to be a very good coach. He has been with the same team for a long time in LaLiga as difficult as ours. Other teams like Sevilla and Real Sociedad have appeared, but Simeone is still there, in his style, he has no doubts. He continues to win titles and is a coach to be admired. He continues his work and I think he is a reference."
