The farewell press conference for Juan Cala, who says goodbye to the pitch, took place this afternoon. President Manuel Vizcaino was in charge of accompanying the former player from Lebrija. "We come here today to say goodbye to him and give him a big hug for everything he has given us, playing his knee when the team needed it most", explained the Cadista leader.

Afterwards, Juan Cala took the floor. "Today is the end of my career, the end of the dream I started as a boy. I wanted to thank my friend Manuel, the president of Cadiz, for his words. I had decided to come to Cadiz because there was a project with some people with whom I knew it would be fulfilled. I'm glad that this family has Cádiz where they have it".

Words of thanks. "Many thanks to my parents for supporting us in what you can't see. When they are in the quarry there are many journeys that have to take you at ungodly hours. There were hours of work to fulfil my dream. Many moments of doubt. It is only fair to thank my family for everything I have experienced and achieved. I have always tried to be an honest, hard-working person, and when I have taken the field I have given everything. I take with me many friends from football. I have to thank them for understanding me because I have a special character".

Memories of previous fans. "I want to say a few words of affection to the Sevilla fans, where I grew up, to the Getafe fans, for the moments I experienced and to the Cádiz fans, of course. We've been through some very unfair times here and they've given their all with me. I have to thank all the support I've felt to all the fans of Cádiz and also their workers. I can only say thank you".

The injury marked his retirement. "I have missed retiring on the pitch and not because of an injury. I have achieved the goal of having Cádiz in the top flight. I haven't missed anything, just fulfilling my contract on the pitch and enjoying myself more on the pitch".
