Cádiz CF coach, Gaizka Garitano, spoke to the media after the Yellows' victory over Albacete in the 19th round of LALIGA Hypermotion.

Assessment. “I am very happy with everyone's effort and commitment. It's logical that the players were under pressure. We had many losses, but we were very solid and that solidity makes you win in the Second Division. The players were under pressure and we have to improve with the ball, but we got it out of them.”

Aspects to improve. “We were the highest-scoring team in the category and we had to improve that. Second Division matches need to be matured, and we have good changes to make in the 60th or 70th minute. It will be good for the players to loosen up a bit more with the ball, because we need to improve”.

Victory. “The best solution in soccer is to win and, from there, I leave very happy with many things. It was not an easy match, but we managed it with order until the end. I'm very happy with the work, the players have emptied themselves, they have run and worked so that Albacete had almost no chances to score. We would have liked to have had a much more fluid game. In the second half, we did see that at times, and we have to give them longer sequences”.

Fans. “In the second half, the crowd pressed and it's difficult for the away team. I know what this pitch is like and I'm very grateful for their help. It was noticeable that they pressed in the second half”.

Carlos Fernández and Óscar Melendo. “Carlos was injured from his last game in Elche, we tried and we could not. Melendo is out for three weeks or more. Alcaraz and Escalante will also be out until we get back from vacation.”

Atmosphere. “We are in a big club and when things don't go well they tighten up. That happens in all clubs that need to win and have a history. When you tighten they give you, we are going through a difficult situation for everyone. When the team has given them, they have tightened up, and it has shown”.

Penalty. “Álex was the one who took it, but he wasn't on the field, and we also have Ontiveros and Chris. They both worked yesterday. Chris was brave and took it. We need players with personality and, among the two or three shooters we have, the one who had the confidence at that moment took it”.

Roger Martí. “Roger played with discomfort. He had a bandage because he didn't train the day before yesterday. He made an effort to play, another would have stayed. He is quite bothered with a contracture. We knew he was ready for 60 minutes.
